Our mission is to promote the advancement of quality welding in the industry and to teach welding to those who are interested. We pride ourselves in offering our students a program and environment in which they can learn different welding processes and develop their skills to meet industrial standards.
A refund will be made five (5) days after termination.
The tuition for each class MUST be paid at least three (3) days prior to the start of class.
A student may withdraw from class at any time by notifying the School in writing at its administrative office or by registered mail.
Students terminated from the training program CANNOT enroll again in this School.
We recommend the Welding Aptitude Test available at the local STATE EMPLOYMENT SERVICE. These tests are available in fifty states.
The student may enroll in those sections which meet their individual educational needs. Advance S.M.A.W. is the only course which requires previous training in welding. V. A. eligible students MUST enroll in the full Trade and Technical Course in Welding Training. Past experience and education of V. A. eligible students will be evaluated and appropriate credit granted.
The students are graded by written tests, which cover class work and reading assignments. These grades are combined with the student's performance test which is given in the laboratory for an overall grade on each section. A student must maintain satisfactory progress to remain enrolled and graduate.
The students will be provided with a grade report at the end of each section.
Students MUST carry a one (1) point average in all work to graduate. Students falling below this point average, at any time, will be placed on a probationary basis and must raise their average within the next two (2) weeks. After the probationary period, if the grade point average has not improved, the student will be terminated.
Each student will be given a letter grade on each section. This grade will be based on the written test given during the section and on the performance tests given in the shop.
The shop test is 50% of the final grade.
A student's academic progress will be measured as follows:
A = 4 Points
B = 3 Points
C = 2 Points
D = 1 Point
F = 0 Points - Unsatisfactory
Example: If a student takes five (5) written tests and averages a "B" and a student fails in his/her performance test in shop, his/her average for the course would be calculated as follows:
3 divided by 0 = 3
3 divided by 2 = 1.5 or D+
